As full-service wedding planners based in DC, Maryland, and Virginia, we’re lucky to work with so many amazing couples each year to bring their dream days to life. The best part? No two weddings are ever the same. Every couple has their own unique story, family dynamics, and personal style, which makes every celebration a one-of-a-kind experience.
That said, there are a few traits our couples tend to have in common that make them a perfect match for the LMW experience. Curious about who we typically work with? Let’s break it down!

You love the details
We. Love. Details. (And we’re not just saying that!) Whether it’s heirloom pieces woven into your bouquet, custom cocktail napkins with your love story, or thoughtful nods to your culture, these small touches tell your story and make your day uniquely yours. That’s why we kick off our design process with a questionnaire that digs into what makes you special—your backgrounds, traditions, and family connections. And pro tip: hire a photographer who geeks out over details as much as we do—they’ll capture every thoughtful moment beautifully!

You care about the guest experience
While the details are fun and a huge part of what we do, the guest experience is something we are deeply committed to. We want your guests to feel comfortable and well taken care of and remember your wedding for all of the right reasons. Things as simple as temperature control and offering welcome beverages to keep guests cool, or considering their dietary restrictions can go a really long way in making them feel loved and welcome.
Some of our favorite moments at weddings have been deeply personal and truly enhance the guest experience. One of our couples handwrote 200 thank you postcards filled with thoughtful memories they shared with each guest at their place setting and included a photo of them together. Watching their guests read these sweet cards was truly one of my favorite moments from their wedding and something I still think of often when talking about the guest experience.

You are kind people
This should go without saying, but we appreciate working with couples who are just overall warm people. People who say thank you to their servers at dinner, people put away their shopping carts at the grocery store and stop for old ladies crossing the street. These may seem like basic human things, but to us kindness and understanding are so important to having a great working relationship. We pride ourselves in being able to work well with virtually anyone. However, we do love working with really excited, sweet, kind, and responsive couples who are just great people- and we have to say that our couples are simply the best there is!

You love to party
Our couples know how to have a good time! Some of our favorite wedding photos are the candid moments with big smiles and pure joy. That’s exactly what we’re here to create: the space for you to soak it all in and make unforgettable memories. Whether it’s sipping cocktails during planning meetings, belting out T. Swift on the dance floor with your best friends, or sharing a shot of your pre-game drink you used to have while tailgating in college , we make sure you get all the fun—and none of the stress—on your wedding day.

You love thinking outside of the box
Our couples aren’t afraid to try something new. Whether it’s a bold design element, a quirky reception surprise, or a meaningful ceremony ritual, they’re all about making their day truly their own. Trust us—if you’re open to a little creative magic, we’ll bring it! From unique backdrops to unexpected details, we love working with couples who want their wedding to stand out in all the best ways!

You know what really matters
At the end of the day, it’s not all about the flowers, the linens, or the perfect flatlay (though we love those, too!). What truly matters is that you’re marrying your person and starting this next chapter together. Our couples keep their eyes on the big picture and focus on what really counts: the love they share and the memories they’re creating—not just on the wedding day but for a lifetime.
So, if you’re looking for a wedding planner in the DMV area (or planning a destination wedding!) and this sounds like your vibe, let’s chat! We can’t wait to get to know you, celebrate your love, and help you create a wedding that’s as unforgettable as your story.
